West Sussex Wineries
Sussex: the perfect location to experience outstanding wine.
Over recent years, the production of wine in England has soared, especially so in Sussex! Sussex produces more wine than any other county in the UK and sparkling wine in particular has drawn comparisons with Champagne and is considered to be amongst the best in the world. The warm, dry climate and diverse soils by the South Downs makes it the ideal conditions for growing grapes.
It’s likely that wine has been produced in this area for more than 2000 years, either by the late Iron Age tribes or by the Romans who governed what was to become Sussex.
Do as the Romans do… and drink wine!
There are more than 50 wineries dotted around West Sussex to visit - so spend a day, weekend (or week!) and discover the delicious food and wine this incredible region has to offer.
Only an hour from London or 30 mins from Brighton, we’re showcasing local West Sussex wineries on your doorstep that have cellar doors, tours and tastings, fine-dining restaurants and more! All set in the countryside of Sussex’s leading wine estates we’re lucky to call home.
From us, Kinsbrook - the youngest vineyard owners in the country to Bolney Estate - one of the oldest vineyards in the country, we’ll take you on a tour of the West Sussex Wineries near you to explore.
Enjoy!
